Abstract
Origin and Purpose of Problem
Hundreds of freshman are entering prairie view university varsity each year, and most of them have a very poor background in English. Since many studies have already been made dealing directly with the freshman. I have turned my attention to the high school teachers, using the English teachers in one Texas county as representative examples to see if they may be in any way responsible for the difficulties of students.
