Abstract
The purpose of this study is to ascertain the educational patterns of the community school to determine to what extent they affect the lives of people in the community. The writer hopes to gain an insight into the latest trend of educational thought through an analysis of educational literature as it relates to community living. It is also hoped that as a result of this analysis, information will be gained sufficient to assist in setting up a community school program leading to more meaningful educational experiences for children.
This investigation is confined to an analysis of current literature in the form of books, journals, magazines, pamphlets, and related studies as they relate to community school development from 1940 to 1950. It is further limited to community school patterns as they relate to the curriculum of the school, and the responsibility of educational workers in community school development.
