Abstract
This volume contains a study of the Freshman English Placement Test 1937-38 supplemented by a study of the classroom work of forty-tow Agricultural students for the school year 1937-38.
The Prairie View English Placement Test consists of three parts: sentence structure and diction, grammatical forms and the writing of a composition. The test is given to help place those students who attain the ninetieth percentile score and above in a section, and those who fall below the twenty-fifth percentile in a section, and all agricultural students in a section.
From the papers written by the forty-two students enough errors were selected to devise a second form of the test.
The writer has tried to show what has been accomplished by the students and also to point out some of their weaknesses.
