Abstract
Children differ, and means of developing them must vary. Every individual needs adequate physical care. Growth is affected by the psychological care he receives, also by the economic and social status of this ancestors. The study of physical growth and development takes in many correlated sciences, preventive medicine, hereditary eugenics, and many others. In the presentation of this materials, certain pathological topics have been omitted. Although it is recognized that they influence growth very definitely. In selecting material for this survey use has been of studies of physical growth and development of the young child. This survey attempts to deal with the beginning of infancy to eighteen months, from the standpoint of what is significant in behavior and that when the needs of growth are met not only the questions of personal care are settled but the all-around question of educational procedure are in process of being solved.
