Abstract
Regarding the school as a great social instrument, education as a process of secial adjustment, and school management as a constructive social undertaking — much stress should be placed upon the importance of the teacher, conceiving clearly the important social purpose of the educative process. The teacher is a director of the activities of children in their pursuit of an education. The functions of the teacher, therefore are not only to direct, but also to formulate much of the policy that is to be executed. To do this she must have some knowledge of the essential working principles upon which education rests.
It is conviction of the writer that the success of education depends largely upon the teacher's realization of her responsibility and the importance of her co-operation in every activity of both the school, and the community.
