Abstract
The writer wishes to bring together all of his findings of research which bear on the organization of the secondary school music program and to show how they can help in dealing with the problems to be faced. It may help the reader to form a better idea of what is to be hoped from the following pages if the writer briefly indicates the fields of research which are particularly interesting and instructive for the school music teacher.
In particular we shall find material relating to the importance of the curriculum in the secondary school, organization, social and economic factors in the development of high school music.
It is the purpose of this study (1) to acquaint the writer with materials that will aid in organizational problems; (2) to produce compiled materials that could be used as a guide to the beginning and potential music teacher in the Secondary School and; (3) to compile a list of supplementary reading materials not analyzed in the study.
The data in this study were gathered from the following sources: Library research, which included books and periodicals.
