Abstract
In view of the fact that most workers administered the cortical extracts after adrenalectomy, in order to study the effects of drugs on the survival period, it was thought that it might prove interesting to study the effect of corticosterons and desoxycortisterone on the survival period of rats, under normal and abnormal conditions, when they are injected before and after the adrenalectomy.
This investigation was primarily concerned with the following objectives: 1. To determine the effect of corticosterone and desoxycorticosterone on the inactivation and lethal times of rats at two different age groups, when injected before and after adrenalectomy and then exposed to normal, high and low temperatures. 2. To determine the effects of corticosterone and desoxycorticosterone on the inactivation and lethal periods of rats of two different age groups when administered after adrenalectomy and exposed to normal, high and low temperatures.
