Abstract
The major problem of this study is to find out what is being done in the Negro senior high schools of Houston to assist pupils in the school to be well rounded citizens in the community and to be successful in life. Analysis of the problem reveals that to solve it means to answer these questions: 1. How is the guidance program organized and administered? 2. What is being done about pupil inventory services? 3. What services are rendered through counselling and how? 4. What is the teacher's role in the guidance program? 5. What use is made of community resources? 6. What are the practices of placement and follow-up?
