Abstract
The problem is to plan a suggested recreational program for the Negroes of Lufkin Community.
This study originated when the writer was informed that the city of Lufkin had provided Jones' Park in the North Section of Lufkin for a Negro Recreation Center. In line with this movement, the principal of Dunbar High School, Lufkin, Texas contacted the writer in the interest of her services as supervisor of the project.
Having considered the proposition, and realizing the need for, and assistance in planning such a program, this study was chosen as a means of securing information necessary in establishing a Recreational Program for Negroes of the Lufkin Community.
