Abstract
This study is confined to the matter of trying to find methods of improving the different marketing situations in Shelby County, by an attempt to analyze the problems and to formulating the following questions: 1. What is the average size of farm? 2. What economic information is used in making farm transactions? 3. How far is the farm from the available markets? 4. What determines the crops grown in the county? 5. What improvements have been made in the marketing structure since 1945? 6. What can be done to further improve the markets?
The purpose of this paper is to bring out some of the conditions of the marketing system of Shelby County and the overall financial condition of the average farms in the county.
