Abstract
The purpose of this study is to reveal the actual value of the Home Economics work to the needs of the communities as it is being taught in three schools in Washington County.
A realization of this purpose has been attempted by finding out the point of view of the parents in each community toward Home Economics work, and also to find out from each teacher what she would like parents to know in order to facilitate cooperation in solving their problems through Home Economics work.
The writer hopes to obtain worthwhile information for the following reasons: 1. To collect information by which she might be able to profect as a future Home Economics teacher in this or a similar county. 2. To appreciate more fully the relationship existing between Home Economics work and community needs. 3. To gain an insight into conditions and practice in need of change. 4. To offer some suggestions that will lead to improvement in each community.
