Abstract
In this treatise I aim to show how Prostitution in Modern Society differs from that of Ancient Society, according to causes, extent and effect. The books I relied most upon were The Encyclopedia Britannica, and Crime and Its Repression. The books of the Bible upon which I relied most are Leviticus and Deuteronomy. The reason why I used these books in preference to other books, such as Social Pathology .. .by Queen and Mann, and Outlines of Sociolgy by Blackmar and Gillin is because of the fact that from these books I get the best information concerning Prostitution in Ancient and Modern Societies as to causes, extent and effect.
