Abstract
This study involves a survey and a critical evaluation of the need for more intensive student personnel activities at the Booker T. Washington High School of Shreveport, Louisiana. It seeks to discover the status of the interests, aptitudes, capacities, and the degree of normalcy of the educational development of a select group of students as they have progressed from one grade to another. The conditions listed above were studied through an inquiry into the nature of interrelationships among certain personal characteristics} namely, mental maturity, educational development, socioeconomic status, scholastic achievement, and educational achievement} of an array of students selected in grades ten, eleven, and twelve during the academic year 1957-58.
