Abstract
War is a drama In which there are many players; some play a minor role while others play a major role, Some play a role but never appear on the stage. The why in a war seldom presents itself. The author will change the passive character into an active character. To understand the present situation among the European powers exhibited in their insatiate grabbing of territory and carrying on civil wars one must have an index or something that will serve as a base. No better index or lead could be gained that would explain the situation better than a study of the recent Italo- Ethiopian War, This problem will present pacific causes that apply to the situation in question but in general, the causes are analogous of other cases, past or present. The author's interest in this problem has been stepped up because of his supposed relation to the inhabitants of Ethiopia, Any material that deals with one's relatives should be interesting. Regardless to the relation the author will analyze the situation from an objective point of view and will allow no feeling of sympathy to enter because of relationship.
