Abstract
One who works in pare and applied mathematics must inevitably face the problem of working with rational functions. This paper deals with several properties and applications of rational functions.
The problems will be discussed in the following manner. Firstly, several definitions and theorems on polynomials from Algebra and Theory of Equations are stated. Secondly, zeros and poles of rational functions are discussed. Thirdly, a rather general theorem relative to the integration of rational function is discussed. Fourthly, differentiation of rational function is discussed. Fifthly, some of the theorems above will be applied to special problems.
