Abstract
In this paper various methods of presenting mathematical induction to high school students will be investigated. In order to develop these methods various properties of the natural numbers will be considered, and the induction postulate and the well-ordering property will be developed. A collection of problems suitable for solution by mathematical induction will be classified according to types, and a method for solving each type of problem using mathematical induction will be discussed.
