A Note from the Executive Editor

With great pleasure, I present Volume 4, Issue 1 of PURSUE: Undergraduate Research Journal. This issue includes original research in the areas of biology, mathematics, and sociology.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented unexpected academic, space, technology, and personnel challenges. Nonetheless, all articles in this issue were peer-reviewed by scientists. The peer-review process is a competitive one. Only those articles recommended by the review editors (who provide discipline-specific expertise) and the editorial board were selected.
