Description

Woyo is a wooden pot lid carved with pictorial narratives representing proverbs. The pot lid, which covered the meal served by a wife to her husband serves as an ingenious means of communication between husband and wife.

Culture and Traditions

The Woyo are mostly fishermen who live on the Atlantic coast in the Angolan province of Cabinda and spread inland to the southwest region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
