Abstract

This study does not propose to settle questions, to recommend definite and set procedures or to plan compreheisive and suitable leisure-time programs. It is to contribute to our knowledge of the need for more and better recreational activities in our elementary schools. To indicate, by inference, ways in which school administration should take more of an active part in the recreational life of pupils.

This study is concerned only with the elementary schools. It is understood that there are certain limitations in a study of this kind. This study is not based upon formal and original data. In addition, this study does not discuss the many problems of joint planning as done by many people. Suffice it to say, that the spirit of cheerful compromise must prevail.
