The present work is concerned with the effect of pteridines and pteridine analogues on growth and development of D. discoideum. Protein and DNA synthesis during growth and development and the action of p-aminobenzoic add and sulfanilamide on growth and development were examined. The antagonistic effect of p-aminobenzoic acid on the inhibitory action of sulfanilamide on cells of D. discoideum was also examined.
